Construction of a Vocabulary List for Japanese Learners of English and Development of a System for Analyzing Educational Materials Based on Large-scale Corpora

本项目的主要目的是为日本英语学习者构建词汇表，并开发一个基于大规模语料库的教育材料分析系统。本文首先对JACET基本词汇委员会2002年编制的JACET 8000量表的信度和效度进行了仔细的检验，以找出其中有待改进和发展的地方。然而，四次验证研究均未发现任何严重的流，表明JACET 8000基本词汇达到了高度的完善。基于这些研究，从第二年开始，我们验证了本项目的目的。也就是说，最终目标从“改进和发展列表本身”改为“建立四个子语料库并提出JACET 8000中未包含的单词列表”。“然而，由于时间的限制，这次使命比我们预期的要困难。我们成功地编写了四个语料库：初中和高中教材，英语口语，美国英语和儿童文学。通过合并和计算这些语料的范围值，我们选择了636个词作为JACET 8000的补充词汇表。从现在起，希望将该补充表合并到JACET 8000中，以重建更可靠和有效的词汇表。

The main purpose of this three-year project is to construct a vocabulary list for Japanese learners of English and develop a system for analyzing educational materials based on large-scale corpora. First of all, the validity and reliability of JACET 8000, which was compiled by the JACET basic word committee in 2002, are examined carefully to find if there are any points to be improved and developed. However, four validation studies can not find any serious flow, and show that the JACET 8000 basic words reached a high degree of perfection.Based upon these studies, from the second year, we verified the purpose of this project. That is, the final goal was changed from "improving and developing the list itself" into "establishing four sub-corpora and proposing list of words which were not included in the JACET 8000." However, this mission was more difficult than we had expected due to the limitation of time allowance. We manage to compile four corpora : junior and high school textbooks, spoken English, American English and children's literature. By merging and calculating the range value of these corpora, we selected 636 words as supplemental vocabulary list to the JACET 8000.Finally, the validity of the supplement 636 is not verified yet. From now on, it is desirable to merge this supplement list into the JACET 8000 to reconstruct more reliable and valid vocabulary list.
