This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is to evaluate individual differences and personality variables on alcohol preferences. Subjects are being asked to participate because of the extent of their alcohol use. Two experiments will be conducted sequentially. Each experiment will have different participants, though inclusion/exclusion criteria and the recruitment process are the same for each experiment, permitting viable comparison of results across studies. Experiment 1 will investigate how a stressor impacts the strength of an alcohol cue. Experiment 2 will investigate how stress impacts the strength of an initital drink of alcohol.
