Development of international market for pulse producers and industry is a key to maintain and increase business, maximize profit and provide economic return and benefit to pulse producers. To develop competitive market (both domestic and international), we need to develop suitable products that have high feed milk value and are easily transported/shipped mainly based on peas and lentil screenings, damaged peas and lentil a non-food grade of peas and lentil. High production dairy cattle need to have optimized nutrient supply for optimized microbial growth and high milk production. Very unique nutrient profile in pea and lentil (good available energy and protein profile, a significant amount of pectin) and Canola meal (high level protein and good amino acid balance profile) are good candidates as feed ingredients that can be combined to develop new products for high productive dairy cattle for a high potential international market. The addition of lignosulfonate (Ameribond) in combination with slaked lime can greatly reduce the rate of rumen fermentation to maximize nutrient utilization. This can be tested in new develop products. The objective of this study is to develop value added pellet products based on combination of pea/lentil screenings, lignosulfonate chemical compound and canola meal to maximize benefit for pulse producers and processing industry. New blend product based on pea/lentil screens will be developed. Dairy feeding strategy and feeding efficiency based on the new product will be tested and obtained. The economic benefit study results will be developed in our research. It is anticipated that this proposed research program will highly influence and benefit to pulse producer, processing, livestock, and export industries. ****
