英文摘要
The Etymological Dictionary of Thuringian Dialects (THEW) aims at the semantic field Der Mensch im Alltag and is based upon onomasiological principles. The Thuringian words belonging to this field are explained semantically, morphologically, and most of all etymologically. In the first part of this project 200 words have been dealt with. In the second part another 100 words will be treated in order to extend the database of the semantic field Der Mensch im Alltag. The focus of THEW II (= second part of the project) as well as the THEW I lies on Thuringian words attested from Middle High German on. Additionally we are dealing with some words documented as early as Old High German if the Etymologisches Wörterbuch des Althochdeutschen doesn't mention them. The THEW emphasizes the semantic patterns and plausability of the etymological explanation. Thus THEW I and THEW II will contribute to modern dialectology and areal linguistics. The results will be published in print and in a researchable online version of the Trierer Wörterbuchnetz. New insights in dialectal morphology will be published in a supplementary volume, a desideratum in modern dialectological studies.
