项目摘要

NDLOPACをソースとし、語句「国家」and/ori「国民」and/or「国体」and/or「政府」を含むタイトルからコーパスを作成し、石田雄『日本の政治と言葉』に示された諸見解を参照規準として、逐次分析をおこなった。近代日本「国家」に対する理解は憲法発布に前後し、すぐれて実利主義的な性格を有するものとして確立した。この局面における日本「国家」理解を代表するのは有賀長雄『国家学』(1889)および後藤新平『国家衛生原理』(1889)である。これに連動し「国民」観念は2通りの仕方で出生した。第1に従来の諸属性から解放され「百科」や「便覧」、「宝鑑」に提起された新知識を吸収する人々である。第2に徴兵検査を受けた「国家の兵」である。これを代表するのは内田邦靖『国民須行』(1884)および笹島吉太郎『国民合約論』(1881)である。19世紀末以降、「家族国家観」の普及とともに被治者全体を覆っていったのは「国家の兵」としての「国民」だった。これを証するのは樋口勘次郎『国家社会主義新教育学』(1904)、石井国次『国民の覚悟:戦時教育』(1904)である。日露講和以降、実利を優先しないかのような挙動を見せる現実の「国家」に対して、「国家の兵」としてのイノセンスを有する「国民」は不満を膨張させ、時に暴走した。千家尊福『国家の祭祀』(1916)、志村智鑑『日蓮聖人の教へられたる国家と人生』(1920)などがそれを物語る。大正期を通じ、その一部が自身のイノセンスの拠り所を憲法冒頭の「神国日本」に求めるに至った。大正期には日本「国家」「国民」のこの隘路に無「政府」主義と多元「国家」論が現れる。大杉栄『無政府主義者の見たロシア革命』(1922)、長谷川万次郎（如是閑）『現代国家批判』(1921)がそれを代表する。
