项目摘要

３県３市の複数の小・中学校より令和4年4月実施の「全国学力・学習状況調査」における外国人児童生徒の成績に関するデータ提供を得た。限られたデータ数であったために、問題の傾向と正答率の関係などを明らかにすることはできなかったが、総じて正答率が低く、特に就学時から日本の学校で教育を受けてきた児童にも学力面での大きな課題があることが確認された。協力依頼先の１校の学校長からは、本研究をきっかけに初めて外国人児童のみを取り出した学力状況を確認し、その課題を実感したとのフィードバックがあり、より広い範囲でのデータ収集とその結果の周知の重要性を再認識した。上の自治体のうちA市においては、正答率の低かった算数の問題の類題をスモールステップに分け、希望者に対する放課後の補習の形で、つまずきの原因を探った。日本語の習得に問題がないように見える児童の文章題の読解力の低さ、解法ストラテジーの乏しさが顕在化した。B市においては、希望者に対する夏休みの補習の形で、算数の新しい単元の導入時の言語にフォーカスした授業モデルを試行した。取り出し授業での活用はもとより、在籍学級での授業でも応用可能なモデルとして構築する可能性が見い出せた。いずれも日本語指導担当教員との意見交換を重ね、外国人児童生徒の「学習言語習得」に関する課題と対策を検討することができた。他方ドイツでは、「算数・数学科における言語教育」に関するワークショップに参加し、研究・実践についての知見を得た。また、Buchholtz教授（ハンブルク大学）からは研究デザインについての助言と示唆を得た。
