イスラーム圏の途上国の多くで、近年広がりつつあるのがイスラーム金融である。固定された利子率を禁じるコーランの教えに基づき、貸し手と借り手の双方がリスクをシェアする利子率変動型のイスラーム金融は、農業金融においても利用が広まっている。しかしこのようなイスラーム金融の持つインパクトと、そのインパクトが生じるメカニズムについては、十分に明らかになっていない。そこで、パキスタンにおいて、在来型金融とイスラーム金融それぞれの利用農民を対象に、家計調査と実験を実施し、実験データを家計調査データと結合させることにより、これらを実証的に解明することが本研究の当初の目的であった。この目的を達成するための最終年度として、令和４年度には、パキスタン農業開発銀行の協力のもとに、利子率固定の在来型金融の利用農民100名を対象としたフィールド調査を実施し、そのデータを解析した。イスラーム金融利用者のサンプルを得られなかったことへの対応として、宗教心の強弱を丁寧に計測し、農業に関する総合的情報だけでなく、くじを利用したリスクゲーム、異時点間の選択と現在バイアスの有無を明らかにする時間ゲーム、利他性を測る独裁者ゲーム、公正性を測る最後通牒ゲームを実施した。これらの情報をもとに、ワーキングペーパー2本を取りまとめた。第1の論文は、宗教心の強弱と独裁者ゲームにおける利他性の強弱の関係について、既存研究にみられない対象者である農民のデータを用いて、これまで知られていなかった新たな関係を見出したもので、既に国際的な査読付きジャーナルに投稿中である。第2の論文は、新型コロナがリスク・時間選好、社会選好に与えるインパクトを自然災害による農業不作のインパクトと比較するもので、ほぼ完成に近づいている。これらに加えて関連研究の査読付きジャーナルへの投稿作業を継続した。
