The collection of essays takes various perspectives of 'Intercultural Theology' into consideration. ¿Intercultural Theology¿ describes a relative new university discipline which could establish itself at several (Protestant and Catholic) Faculties of Theology in the German-speaking area and a new problem awareness and methodological reflection of theology as such which is not limited to a closed 'Christian universe', but within intercultural/interreligious areas of tension. FRANZ GMAINER-PRANZL introduces to fundamental perspectives of Intercultural Theology, the history of research and outstanding issues. Perspectives from the Biblical Theology are presented by EGBERT BALLHORN at the Book of Baruch and by JOCHEN FLEBBE with examples from the New Testament. As a result it becomes obvious that 'Intercultural Theology' already had been a challenge in Biblical times which theologically had to be mastered. Perspectives from religion pedagogy are necessary in order to disseminate research results in an appropriate way. The contributions by RITA MÜLLER-FIEBERG, CLAUDIA GÄRTNER and JOACHIM WILLEMS deal with the didactic in higher education to students from different cultures in regard to denominational religious education and the possibility of interreligious learning.
