本研究は，困難な状況に遭遇した際に生起する心理的ストレスに対する適応・回復の過程であるレジリエンスが，第二言語（L2）の学習・習得及び使用のプロセスにおいてどのように発現・発達するのか，また，どのような影響を与えるのかを，特に，力学系理論をその理論的基盤として，明らかにすることを目的とする。研究４年目となる令和４年度は，前年度に構築した，L2の学習・習得及び使用のプロセスにおける領域固有のレジリエンスとしての「L2レジリエンス」（L2R）の仮設構成概念モデルの吟味・精緻化を目指した。ポジティブ心理学を参照し，L2Rの発現・発達に関わると考えられる構成概念として，困難や逆境に遭遇した際に経験する心理的ストレスに耐え抜く心の強さを表すハーディネスと，目標達成の道筋を考えることのできる能力であるホープを取りあげ，それぞれ「L2ハーディネス」（L2HD），「L2ホープ」（L2HP）というL2領域固有の構成概念として再定式化した上でL2Rの構成概念モデルに組み込み，両構成概念のL2Rとの関わりの解明に取り組んだ。２週間にわたるオンラインでの短期語学研修を受講した日本人大学生を対象とした質問紙調査及びインタビュー調査を実施し，そのデータの予備的分析を行った結果，ハーディネスはL2Rの先行規定要因として主にその強さを，また，ホープはL2Rの媒介規定要因として主にその方向をそれぞれ規定している可能性が示唆された。本研究で構築したL2HD及びL2HPを規定要因とするL2Rの構成概念モデルは，外国語学習不安と第二言語を用いて自発的にコミュニケーションを行おうとする意志の両者の相互作用により誘発されるコミュニケーションへの接近または回避行動をL2Rが媒介要因として規定しているという本研究の仮説を支持するものであり，そのメカニズムの記述・説明がより心理的実在性の伴ったものとなることが期待される。
