Shirakami-Sanchi,registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, is a region which has held abundant resources of forest and minerals. This study elucidates how this region's resources have been used historically, based on the survey and analysis of historical documents. Consequently,Shirakami-Sanchi,which was situated in the Tsugaru and Akita domains in feudal times and supplied both domains with forestry and mining resources was regarded as an area of vital importance to clan finances rather than as a site of untouched nature, represented by its virgin beech forest. In addition, it is now clear that the Noshiro earthquake which occured in 1704 and the West Tsugaru earthquake which occured in 1793 affected the scenery and resoureces of the area in a variety of ways.

白上三地于1993年被联合国教科文组织列为世界遗产，是一个拥有丰富森林和矿产资源的地区。本文通过对历史文献的调查和分析，阐明了该地区资源的历史利用情况。因此，在封建时代，位于津轻和秋田领地并为这两个领地提供森林和矿产资源的白上三地被视为对氏族财政至关重要的地区，而不是以原始山毛榉林为代表的未受破坏的自然遗址。此外，1704年发生的能代地震和1793年发生的西津轻地震对该地区的风景和资源产生了各种影响。
