项目摘要

北海道各地でアイヌ文化を活かした観光振興が検討・実施されている現在、アイヌ文化の伝承活動と経済活動の連携、アイヌに対する理解促進の強力なツールとしての観光のあり方や観光現場で表出している課題解決のための研究が求められている。本研究は先住民族観光Indigenous Tourismの理念形成の変遷、先住民族観光の先進国の取組、そして北海道におけるアイヌ民族観光（アイヌ民族・文化が関わる観光）の特徴を明らかにした上で、(1)先住民族観光の議論に日本のアイヌ民族観光を位置づけること、および(2)自律的なアイヌ民族観光に求められる理念や仕組づくりを具体的に提示することを目的とする。今年度は次の調査研究を行った。①ニュージランドおよびカナダにおける先住民族観光の先行事例にかかる文献資料を収集し、取組の理解および課題や特徴を分析した。②北海道観光とアイヌ民族との歴史的関係性を把握するための文献・資料調査を行った。また、平取、阿寒、白老において観光に従事している（従事した）アイヌ民族に関するインタレビューを行った。③北海道内のアイヌ民族観光の今日的取組と課題を理解するため、従前よりアイヌ民族観光と文化伝承の両立に取組んでいる阿寒湖アイヌコタンにおいて、アイヌ文化の知的財産権保護事業を展開する事業者およびホテル事業者にヒアリングや実際の観光プログラムの参与観察調査を行った。これらの研究成果は、国際シンポジウム等の場で口頭発表するとともに、先住民族観光をテーマとして編まれている英語論集に寄稿した。
