1.本研究は,最近の日本企業の多角化や事業転換の実態,その要因,経営パフォーマンスに対する効果,についてマイクロデータを使用して定量的な分析を行っているものである。本年度においては,先行研究をサーベイしたのち,通商産業省「企業活動基本調査」の個票データを再構築して多角化・集中化,分社化等の実態を整理するとともに,同調査の企業特性データ及び関連する産業特性データを使用して企業の事業展開を規定する要因等について回帰分析を行った(OLS,TOBIT等)。2.これまでの主な分析結果は以下の通りである。(1)企業本体(親会社)の事業展開において業種の絞り込みの傾向が観察された。(2)本体の事業展開の広さには,企業規模,研究開発,平均賃金,企業の歴史などが関係していた。(3)事業の構成の変化に対しては,本業売上高の成長,企業規模,研究開発,平均賃金,雇用の固定性,親会社の有無,初期の事業構成などが関係していた。(4)子会社等の数は増加しているが,業種の拡がりは本体と同様に集中化の傾向が見られる。(5)子会社・関連会社の事業展開に影響を与える要因を見ると(親会社の)企業規模,研究開発,開業年次などが関連していたほか,親会社の事業展開が広いほど子会社等の事業展開の幅が広い傾向がある,親(祖父)会社をもつ場合に子会社展開の範囲が狭い傾向がある,といった興味深い結果が観察された。(6)本体(親会社)の事業展開と子会社・関連会社の事業展開の関係は代替的ではないと考えられる。(7)事業の集中化の利益率に対するプラスの効果が一部で観察されたが,頑健な結果ではない。子会社展開と収益性の間にもシステマティックな関係は認められない。3.今後の課題としては,推計結果の頑健性(robustness)の検証,推計方法の改善,ヒアリングによる補充等が挙げられる。

This study aims to explore the main causes and effects of recent diversification and business transformation in Japanese enterprises, and to conduct quantitative analysis on the use of diversification and business transformation. This year, we will conduct preliminary research and analysis (OLS,TOBIT, etc.) on the basis of restructuring the individual data of the Basic Survey of Corporate Activities of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and organizing the situation of diversification, centralization, and decentralization, as well as on the basis of the survey on the use of corporate characteristics and related industrial characteristics and the regulation of corporate business development. 2. The main analysis results are as follows. (1)The tendency of the enterprise itself (parent company) to develop business in the middle of the business is observed. (2)The relationship between business development, enterprise size, research development, average rent and enterprise history. (3)Business structure changes in relation to business growth, size, research and development, average rental, employment stability, the existence of parent companies, initial business structure changes in relation to. (4)The number of sub-associations has increased, and the trend of concentration in business has increased. (5)The main factors affecting the business development of subsidiary associations and related associations include the size of the company, the research development, the opening year, the relationship, the business development of parent associations, the business development of subsidiary associations, etc., the trend of the business development of parent associations, and the trend of the business development of parent associations. (6)The relationship between the business development of the parent company and the business development of the subsidiary company and the related company is not replaced. (7)The results of the concentration of business profitability are partly observed and the results are persistent. The relationship between the two groups is very close. 3. Future issues include verification of robustness of estimation results, improvement of estimation methods, and improvement of estimation methods.
