通級指導教室(いわゆる「ことばの教室」)における言語障害児への支援に関しては、従来、子どもの言語症状の改善や、言語能力の伸張を図ることが主要な目標とされ、それに向けてのいわゆる治療教育的なプログラムは、これまでの実践研究の蓄積によりある程度構築されてきている。しかし、症状の改善が困難な場合も含め、治療教育的支援を行うのみでは子どもの暮らしの充実を支えることは困難である。そこで、言語障害を受容しながら生き生きとしたコミュニケーションをする、症状の改善にいたらなくても本人の暮らしにくさが解消される、といったことへの支援、すなわち生活充実指向型の支援が必要と考えられるが、これまでのところその内容等が体系的に整理されたものはない。従って、生活充実指向型の支援内容・プログラムの構築に向けた知見を得ることが本研究の目的とするところである。過去2年間、これまでの言語障害教育の実践・研究の検討、それを踏まえた生活充実指向型支援の観点の整理、それにもとついた実践的取り組み、等を行ってきた。本年度はその継続を行うとともに、得られた知見の整理・検討を行った。その成果は研究成果報告書にまとめ公表したが、そこでは、言語障害教育の実践内容の歴史的経緯、生活充実指向型支援とそれを通級の場で行うことの意義、実践と考察、まとめと今後に向けた展望が主な柱となった。本研究では、生活充実指向型支援の内容として、1)子どもの暮らしを見つめ心理的な支援を行う、2)子どもと周囲の関係援助を行う、3)教室を子どもと指導者が共に同じことを感じ過ごす場とする、といった実践が挙げられた。今後はこれらの実践のさらなる収集・蓄積と、支援内容の体系的な整理が課題である。
