主に英語と日本語における言語習得及び言語障害データを収集し、有標性の観点から分析することが本研究の目標である。昨年度は日本語の言い誤りのデータを分節音、音節のレベルに基づいて分析を行ったが、今年度は初語期(約生後10ヶ月)から60語期(1歳10ヶ月前後)の幼児の音声データを中心に語形に焦点を当てて分析をした。その結果、初語期では1+2モーラの組み合わせから成る、軽+重音節連鎖の語形が多用されるものの、50-60語期になると、重+軽(2+1モーラ)語が好んで使用されることが明らかとなった。さらに、30語期(1歳5ヶ月前後)あたりを境として音節量の組み合わせパターンが変化していることがわかった。従来の先行研究では2歳児前後の幼児データを中心に音韻分析が行われてきたために、日本語もストレス言語である英語同様に重+軽の組み合わせが出発点にある、という見方が主流であったが、少なくとも初語期から30語期あたりまでは重+軽の語形表出は多くなく、発達過程において「何らかの」変化が幼児の韻律構造におきたことを示唆する結果が今回得られた。今のところ、Ito1990が提案しているstemというレベルの獲得が30語期あたりでなされたと結論づけているが、本当に韻律構造上の「変化」かどうかは現段階では明確ではない。ごく初期の発達段階における音声データはこれまであまり報告されておらず、今後さらに多くのデータを収集し、詳しく調査、検討する必要がある。この研究の成果はオランダで開催された"Developmental paths in phonological acquisition"及び"39^<th> International Colloquium of Linguistics"という2つの国際会議で発表した。さらに、国内では上智大学で開催されたシンポジウム"New technology and the investigation of the articulatory process"においてコメンテータとして招待された際にも成果の一部を発表した。
