潜在的多言語家庭の家庭内言語使用の実態を考察する本研究の最終年度である本年度は、「日本語-非英語家庭(フィリピンの言語)」(以下、日-比家族)を対象に昨年度実施した質問紙調査の結果を集計し、これを分析すると共に、協力を申し出た家族を訪問し実施した追跡面接調査の分析を行った。さらに本調査で得られた結果を、「日本語-英語家庭」(以下、日-英家族)を対象として実施した前回調査の結果と比較分析した。分析の結果、以下のような点が明らかとなった:(1)「日-比家族」では、「日-英家族」と比較し、家族内でのコミュニケーションに、社会の主流言語(ここでは日本語)がより多く使用される。(2)「日-比家族」では、両親の母語とは異なる言語である「第3言語(Lα)」が家族内でのコミュニケーションに使用されることが少なくないのに対し、「日-英家族」ではそのような例は観察されていない。(3)「日-比家族」と「日-英家族」では、それぞれ自分たちの言語の組み合わせ(前者では日本語-フィリピンの言語、後者では日本語-英語)によるバイリンガルが日本でどのように捉えられているか、その位置づけに関して異なった認識を持っており、前者の方が後者より有意に否定的である。(4)実際に子どもをバイリンガルに育てようとしているかについても、(3)と同様、前者の方が後者よりも有意に否定的である。加えて、Lαが使用される背景には、Lαの威信性の高さとその有益性に対する認識が大きな影響要因としてあることが示された。以上の結果を統合すると、本研究においては、潜在的多言語家庭では、言語グループによって言語の使用形態に異なった特徴を示し、その違いは、必ずしも家族成員の言語能力の高低や当該言語の実際の使用機会の多寡を直接反映したものではなく、関与する言語の社会的、また国際的威信性や有益性に大きく影響を受けて生じている可能性が強く示唆された。

In the final year of this study, we examined the status of speech use in households with potential multi-lingual families. In the current year, we conducted a questionnaire survey on Japanese-non-English families (hereinafter referred to as Japanese-Japanese families). The results of this survey were compared and analyzed with those of the previous survey on Japanese-English families (hereinafter, Japanese-English families). The results of the analysis are as follows:(1) Japanese-British family, Japanese-British family, and mainstream language in society. (2)"Japanese-English Family" is the third language (Lα) in the family. (3)"Japanese-English family" and "Japanese-English family" are divided into two groups: Japanese and English (the former is Japanese and the latter is Japanese and English). (4)(3) The same, the former and the latter, and the intentional negation of the latter. The background of the use of Lα and L α is important for understanding the high prestige and usefulness of Lα. The results of this study are integrated into the potential multi-lingual family, and the speech patterns, speech patterns, and speech abilities of the family members directly reflect the social and social aspects of speech. The prestige and usefulness of the international community are greatly influenced by the possibility of being affected.
