For the forthcoming progressive aging society, an improvement in quality of the elderly's living environment is most important theme for our Japan. Among these, an improvement of healing and recuperation environment of the long term care unit in hospital ward is also the important subjects. According to these points of view, some thorough investigation works targeting on the typical long term hospital wards were carried out and the methods for architectural planning and design for long term care unit were discussed.Among this series of study and investigation works, following subjects were accomplished.1) Studies for the space composition for the long-term care unit of the hospital wards from the viewpoint of inpatients1 daily living activities2) The typology studies for the stereotype ^of the inpatients from the viewpoint of their ADL and basic attribution.3) Analysis for the nursing activities and consideration for the space composition of staff base.4) The development study on the models of architectural planning of the long term care hospital ward.

面对即将到来的老龄化社会，改善老年人的生活环境质量是我们日本最重要的主题。其中，改善医院病房长期护理单元的康复休养环境也是重要课题。根据这些观点，针对典型的长期护理病房进行了深入的调查工作，探讨了长期护理病房建筑规划设计的方法。在这一系列的研究和调查工作中，完成了以下课题。1)从住院患者日常生活活动角度研究医院病房长期护理单元的空间构成；2)从住院患者日常生活活动和基本归因角度研究住院患者的刻板印象类型。3)护理活动分析及人员基地空间构成考虑。4)医院长期护理病房建筑规划模式发展研究。
