今年度、当研究班はセミマクロ統計と呼び得る分野について研究した。それは個票単位のミクロ統計と、国民経済全体に関わるマクロ統計との中間にあるといえる、小地域小集団、小分野に関わる統計である。それらの数字はミクロデータから計算されるが、標本誤差のみならず、非標本誤差、あるいは不規則変動を大きく含むので、単純に調査票の当該部分だけを集計したのでは信頼性のある結果は得られないことが多い。そこでデータ全体の構造的情報を利用して、まず信頼性の高い推計値を得ることを考えねばならない。そこで具体的に次の3つのテーマについて研究した。1)小地域特性値の推定;多数の小地域について、それらの特性値を同時に推定する場合当該地域の観測値だけでなく、より広い範囲の平均値、さらには全国の平均値をも用いて、それらの加重平均をとることが考えられる。この方法はいろいろな形で合理化できるが、ここでは小地域の特性値を確率変数とみなす変量模型を仮定して推定法を導き、その性質を論じた。(久保川-国友)2)小集団データにおいて欠測値が存在する場合;欠測値を大きい集団から得られる構造的な情報を用いて補い、その集団の特性値を推定することが考えられる。その具体的な手続きとその統計的性質について論じた。(竹内)3)多数の時系列データの同時調整;X-12などの季節調整法は多数の時系列の同時調整を考慮していない。しかし多数の同時の、あるいは相互に関連する時系列の同時調整に当たっては、調整パラメータなどを何らかの形で統一し、本来データの間に存在しいている構造的関係を保存するようにすることが望ましい。通産省製造業生産指数の中の業種別指数、品目指数について、多変量解析法を適用してこの問題を具体的に分析した。(竹内-西尾)
