本研究課題では、14年度からの研究を踏まえ、インターネット使用が子どもの適応面に与える影響について具体的提言を行うことを目的とした。18年度はインターネット使用の効果に関する調整変数の探求を行うと共に、ケータイ使用に関する研究を補足的に行った。1.インターネット研究:インターネット使用の効果に関する調整変数の探求(1)まず、インターネット使用と友人からのソーシャルサポートについて、高校生を対象にパネル調査を実施しSEMで分析した。その結果、インターネット使用により、インターネットで知り合った友人(ネット友人)からのソーシャルサポートが増える一方で、対面の友人からのソーシャルサポートはやや減っていた。(2)次に、孤独感を調整要因としてSEMで多母集団同時分析を行った結果、特に孤独感の高い生徒でネット友人からのソーシャルサポートが増える一方で、対面の友人からのソーシャルサポートはやや減っていた。このように、インターネット使用で得られるネット友人との関係が、孤独感が高い生徒の精神的健康の向上に役立つ可能性が示唆された。したがって、サポートツールとしてのインターネットの活用、ネット上の対人関係に関する適切な助言、良好な対人関係形成に役立つ対人スキルの育成などによって、インターネット使用の適応面への効果を高められる可能性がある。同時に、学内での交流機会を増やすなど対面の友人関係を促進させる対策も必要である。2.ケータイ研究(1)(1)ユビキタスeラーニングの効果に関しての実験研究、(2)ケータイのeラーニングコンテンツの内容分析を行い、ケータイの学習効果が従来メディアに劣らぬこと、学習コンテンツとして評価できることなどを示した。(2)ケータイ使用が(3)友人選択の志向性や、(4)家族関係に及ぼす影響についてのパネル研究を行い、ケータイ使用が友人関係や家族関係に重要な役割を演じている可能性を指摘した。
