项目摘要

本研究は、オンライン大学の学生の学習行動を明確にすることを通じて、学習継続の支援を行うことを目指している。学生の学習履歴や学習進捗状況に基づいて教職員からの支援メッセージがドロップアウト率の減少と学習進捗率の向上に貢献する可能性がこれまでの研究で示唆されている。特に、授業全体を通じたドロップアウト率の変化については、学習が半分ほど進むとドロップアウト率が低下し、最後まで学習が継続することが確認され、初回の授業を早く完了することが最終成績に大きな影響を及ぼすことも確認された。また、学習意欲の調査を行い、学生の自主性志向が高く、コミュニケーション志向が低いという、オンライン大学に特有の学生傾向が確認された。オンライン大学で学習を継続させるためには、自己調整学習スキルを習得し、自己管理を強化するための支援が必要であることが示された。さらに、学習継続支援のための新たな手段として、AIの活用についても検討を行った。ChatGPT等の生成AIを活用することで、学生の学習支援の効率化につながる可能性があり、基礎検討を実施した。スマホアプリを通じたAIの活用は大きな可能性を秘めており、ChatGPTを内蔵したスマホアプリのプロトタイプを作成し、2023年度に実証実験を行う予定である。以上の取り組みを通じて、オンライン大学の学生がさらに自律的な学習者となり、学習意欲を継続できる環境を整備することが期待される。本研究のゴールは、オンライン学習者の自己調整学習スキルとオンライン学習者コンピテンシーの習得、そして学習意欲の継続を通じて、「自律的」学習者の育成を目指し、AIやスマホアプリ等を活用して最適な学生支援を行う学習環境を学生に提供することである。
