项目摘要

本研究は、日本、米国、英国、オーストラリア、フランス、ドイツの6か国とユネスコの国際教育を研究対象にして、国際理解教育の現状と傾向について比較研究を行なった.その結果、いくつかの研究対象国では、国際理解教育という定型の学習領域は存在しないことが判明した。人権教育、多文化教育、グローバル教育など様々な名称のもとに個別の学習プログラムが組まれており、それらが部分的に国際理解教育を取り扱っていることが多い。したがって、わが国にある既成の概念や範囲にとらわれずに、それぞれの国が最も力を入れて研究・開発している具体的なプログラムや、世界の動向のなかで最も先端的な動きに注目する必要を感じた。それ故、本研究では、「国際理解教育」という傘概念の中で、どのように異なる形態の教育プログラムが開発実施されているのか、世界的な新しい動向に焦点をあてて研究を進めた。その結果、この報告書では、ユネスコとオーストラリアの最近の動向に加えて、米国のグローバル教育、ドイツの外国人問題とそれに対応する人権教育、フランス国民教育の国際化(ヨーロッパ化)の動き、イギリスの多文化教育、わが国における国際理解教育の新しい動向、について研究がまとめられた。最後に、地球的な課題に対して教育がどのように対応しようとしているのか、グローバル教育、開発教育、多文化教育を取り上げて比較研究が試みられている。

This study is a comparative study of the current situation and trends of international education in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries.
