A Sociolinguistic Investigation of Code Switching in Bilinguals

在双语研究这一新兴的研究领域，笔者首先根据双语研究的领域和学科，整理了双语研究的基础文献，并完成了双语专业术语词典。C.Baker的书的日文译本的完成有望为日本双语研究的建立做出贡献。我曾在加拿大和威尔士从事实地工作，特别关注社会双语和双语教育。在日本，通过对沉浸式学校的访问，我收集了关于语码转换的原始数据，并对双语大脑的机制进行了研究。通过访谈和问卷调查，我进一步补充了从上述实地工作中获得的语码转换数据。根据语用动机对语料进行分析，并将其分为语言因素、社会因素和心理因素。在此基础上，本文对双语的认知和情感领域进行了探讨，以期建立一个“转换语法”。发言人说：“上述有关双语和中文的研究结果，已以文章和口头报告的形式公布。

In the emerging research area of bilingualism, I first compiled a list of basic literature according to the field and subject in bilingual studies, and completed a bilingual lexicon of technical terms. The completion of the Japanese translation of C.Baker's book is expected to contribute to the eatablishment of bilingual studies in Japan.I was engaged in field work in Canada and Wales with special reference to societal bilingualism and bilingual education. In Japan, too, visits to immersion schools provided me with opportunities to collect raw data of code switching (CS), which in turn led me to investigate the mechanism of the bilingual brain.The CS data obtained from the above-mentioned field work were further supplemented by interviews and questionnaires. The materials were analyzed according to the pragmatic motivation, and were classified into the linguistic, societal, and psychological factors. On the basis of such analyzes, an investigation was made into the cognitive and affective domains of bilingualism, with a view to establishing a "CS grammar."The above findings in bilingualism and CS have been made public in the form of articles and oral presentations.
