Knowledge and Culture among professionals engaged in Japanese Development Aid organizations

这项研究旨在了解在日本发展援助组织工作的“专业人士”的知识和文化背景。这集中在这些专业人员中的“普遍”知识和私人知识。通过对这些知识结构及其文化背景的理解，试图弄清第三世界的发展现象。本研究在更广泛的发展研究背景下探讨了关注知识的一些理论意义。然后，对印尼的援助组织进行了一些案例研究。此外，通过长期采访，日本专业人士的生活史也被写了下来。虽然数据处理尚未完成，但本研究表明，这些专业人员，无论是政府官员还是非政府组织工作人员，在很大程度上都有共同的知识(关于援助业务)，似乎来自西方援助界。但本研究也清楚地表明，那些没有与他们进行长期参与观察的专业人员的文化背景很难理解。这将是我们未来研究的下一步。

This research intended to make clear the knowledge and cultural background among "professionals" who are engaged in Japanese Development Aid organizations. This focussed on both "universal" knowledge and private knowledge among those professionals. Understanding these configuration of knowledge together with their cultural background, this tried to make clear "development phenomena" in the Third world.This research has discussed some theoretical significance of focus on knowledge in a wider context of development studies. Then, this carried out some case studies on Aid organizations in Indonesia. Furthermore, life-histories of Japanese professionals have been written down through long-term interviews. Though data processing has not been completed, this research showed that those professionals, whether the Government officials or NGOs workers, have to much extent common knowledge (about Aid business) which seems to have come from Western Aid circles.However, this research also made clear the difficulties to understand cultural background of those professionals without log-term participant observation with them. This will be the next step for our research in future.
