平成16年度は研究目的にそって18-19世紀の文献資料の發掘と分析及び20世紀初めの文献資料の發掘を行なった。その研究結果を論文投稿と学会発表などにより、日本語と韓国語の変遷に關する研究の発展に資した。文献資料の收集は、東京大学の「小倉文庫本」を中心に行ない、これまでほとんど分析が進まなかった、19世紀末頃の日本人と西洋人によって編纂された韓国語学習書及び朝鮮などを多く調査した。なお、韓国での資料收集も行った。平成16年度に收集した資料のうち、特に東京大学小倉文庫に收められた「朝鮮總督府学務局朝鮮語調査會議議事録」(1912:1-5回)及び「朝鮮語調査會議研究事項」などはハングル正書法の確立過程を明らかにするために重要な文献である。なお、日本語をハングルで記録している文献の分析により、江戸期における日本語のオ段長音の変遷過程を明らかにし、学会誌に発表した。また、韓国語を仮名で記録している文献の分析を通し、中期.近代韓国語の母音の変遷過程に関して通読とは異なる説を提示し、この論文を韓国の学会誌に発表した。今後は、これまで収集した文献を中心に、19世紀における日本語と韓国語の変遷および兩言語の互に及ぼした影響などの分析を進める。
