今年度は,次の2点の研究に取り組んできた。第1の研究は,日本の現在のメディア教育実践を,イギリスとカナダにおけるメディア教育の発展史を参照しながら検証したものである。日本においてメディア教育は,英語科の中で行われてきたカナダ・オンタリオ州での実践に影響を強く受けているため,国語科の中で進められることが多い。また,オンタリオでは民間放送局がメディア教育に協力しているという情報がもたらされたことにより,日本のテレビ局もそれに積極的に関与するようになってきている。こうした特徴を持つ日本の事例に具体的に迫るために,小学校から高校までの国語科教科書と,民放局の教育活動の分析を行った。その結果,日本ではマスメディアの商業主義に対する批判的な思考が教材の中で十分に機能していないことが明らかにされた。この原因は,日本の政治的な環境や教育風土に見出すこともできるが,それだけでなく,イギリスやオンタリオのメディア教育に内在する,商業主義の問題を軽視する考え方が存在しているという点も指摘した。第2の研究が注目したのは,学校の市場化という問題と,それに批判的に取り組む北米のメディア教育である。学校の市場化は,北米において民間企業が教育活動に進出することによって既成事実化されつつあり,日本も例外ではない。しかし,北米では日本と異なり,研究者と教師の多くがこの動きに反対の姿勢を取っている。まず,研究の基礎作業として,企業の学校への関与の是非をめぐる論点を整理し,その上で,北米のメディア科教科書で展開されている,企業の教育活動批判の論理を確認した。これらの作業から,企業の教育活動は宣伝に過ぎず,同時に公的セクターの無力化を図る目的が隠されているという視点を提示することができた。上記の研究の成果は,カナダ教育学会第34回年次大会(ヨーク大学)と日本教育方法学会第42回大会(福島大学)にてそれぞれ発表済みである。

The characteristics of the Japanese case were analyzed in detail, including the textbook of Mandarin for elementary schools, the textbook of Mandarin for colleges and universities, and the educational activities of the Civil Affairs Bureau. As a result, Japan's critical thinking on commercialism is very functional in teaching materials. The reason for this is that Japan's political environment and educational climate have emerged, and the problem of commercialism exists. The second study focuses on the marketization of schools and the critical selection of education. The marketization of schools, private enterprises and educational activities in the north of the rice, the exception of Japan The researchers and the teachers have a lot of different attitudes towards each other. In this paper, the basic work of research, the relationship between the school and the right and wrong of the enterprise are sorted out, the science textbooks of the north rice are developed, and the logic of criticism of the educational activities of the enterprise is confirmed. This is the first time that the company has been involved in educational activities. At the same time, the company has been involved in public education activities. The results of the research mentioned above were presented at the 34th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Educational Methods (Fukushima University) and the 42nd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Educational Methods (Fukushima University).
