本課題では、ヒトの有する文化の伝播に関わる能力の発達的基盤を明らかにするために、幼児が同年齢の幼児との間で行う情報授受の行動がいかに発達するかを明らかにする。本年度は、同年齢の幼児間で行われる教示行動の発達について縦断的に検討を行った。教示行動は「知識の欠如している相手の知識や理解を高めるために遂行される意図的な行動」とされる(Strauss et al.,2002)。本研究では、幼児が保育園の3歳齢クラスに所属している時と4歳齢クラスに所属している時の2時点で、下記のような状況を実験的に設定し、幼児の教示行動を観察した。観察対象児が他児と2名で向かい合って遊んでいるとき、他児の背後で人形を提示する。このとき、観察対象児には人形が見え、他児には見えない。このとき、人形を見ることのできた観察対象児が他児に対して、人形の位置を教えるような教示行動を行うのかどうかを記録した。分析の結果、観察対象児が指さしを行う割合が、3歳齢から4歳齢にかけて増加した。また、観察対象児が相手に対して行う発話の内容にも発達的変化が見られた。具体的には、3歳齢時において幼児は「叫び声」(「あ!」など)と「人形の名称」(「アンパンマン!」など)だけを述べる場合が多かった一方、4歳齢時にはそれらの発話に加え、「人形の状態の叙述」(「飛んでるよ」など)、「人形の位置情報」(「後ろ」など)、「相手に見ることを促す発話」(「見て!」など)、「相手の名前」(「○○ちゃん」など)の発話を述べるようになった。幼児が1歳齢時には指さしによって相手の知らない情報を相手に対して教えることはこれまでも知られていた(Liszkowski et al.,2008)。それに対し本研究は、3歳齢から4歳齢の間に、発話による教示行動が幼児間で行われるようになることが初めて示された。
