本年度は、前年度に行った両大戦間期イングランド銀行のアルゼンチン中央銀行創設における役割についての実証研究を総括した。本年度5月の社会経済史学会全国大会で発表し、多くの貴重なコメントを受けた。それをふまえ、6月には論文としてまとめ、同学会の機関史『社会経済史』に発表することができた。その他、国際学会での発表も行った。具体的には、Asia Pacific Economic and Business History Conferenceで発表し、国外の一線で活躍する研究者のコメントも多数受けることができた。以上のように、国内外の学会発表と査読論文への発表を実現することによって十分に研究成果をあげることができたと考える。また、アルゼンチン財務省・中央銀行の一次史料を用いて、同国の金融・組織の実態分析にまで踏み込みこんだ研究ができたと考える。より具体的にいえば、1935年にアルゼンチン中央銀行が創設されることによって、同国の金融組織・制度はいかに変革されたのかを詳細に検討することができた。したがって本研究は、イギリス帝国経済史の分野のみならず、アルゼンチン金融史の分野にも大いに貢献することができたと自負している。しかし、本研究はアルゼンチン中央銀行の創設問題に研究対象を限定しすぎた感があり、イングランド銀行の中央銀行創設・改革運動の全体像を完全には明らかにすることができなかった。このことを実現するには、本研究で主に取り上げたイングランド銀行のアドバイザーであるニーマイヤー(O, Niemeyer)以外の人物、あるいはアルゼンチン以外の国・地域に関する実証研究の積み上げが必要であると考える。さらに一方で、アルゼンチンの金融組織・制度が歴史的にいかに形成されたのか、ということに関してもより深い理解が必要であることも認識された。いずれの方向性に研究を展開するにしても、イングランド銀行所蔵の一次史料のさらなる収集・読解作業が必要となるであろう。以上2点が今後の研究課題として残された。
