海馬CA3ニューロンでのプレコンディショニングによる長期増強(long-termpotentiation : LTP)誘導抑制を検討した。その結果, (1)1-2Hzでのプレコンディショニングがシナプス後細胞膜上の代謝型グルタミン酸受容体を介してIP3受容体を活性化し, (2)細胞内情報伝達系を賦活して代謝型グルタミン酸受容体機能を修飾して, (3)テタヌス刺激を与えてもシナプス後細胞のAMPA型グルタミン酸が自己リン酸化しないように修飾して, (4)LTP誘導を抑制する, というメカニズムが示唆された。
