本研究は、地域社会と密接にかかわる森林を地域社会保全に活かすしくみについて検討した。その結果、地域諸問題の背景の多様さから目をそらさずに、当該地域に森林を生み出すに至ったダイナミズムから政策立案することを提案した。森林生育のリズムや経営のリズムは暮らしのリズムとは必ずしも一致しない。また森林に対する意味づけは地域社会ごとに異なる。これらの関係を解きほぐし、森林と地域社会を結ぶダイナミズムを活かす視点からアプローチすることの必要性と、政策立案に必要となる諸視点について言及した。

This study discusses the close contact between the regional society and the forest. The results, the background of the various regional issues, the development of the forest, the development of the forest policy, and the development of the forest policy.
