リード化合物の構造を多様化した候補合成小分子ライブラリーを合成し、その中から水溶液に添加することによって蛋白質の構造形成をほとんど阻害せずに蛋白質の凝集を効果的に抑制できる分子を探索し、既存の蛋白質凝集抑制剤よりも蛋白質のリフォールディング収率を大幅に向上できる分子を開発することに成功した。また、合成小分子添加剤を添加することによって、SDS-PAGE 後のゲル内での酵素の再生速度と再生率が向上することも証明することができた。
