放線菌の好気的に生産する膜結合型硝酸還元酵素(dNar)の生理的意義について解析した。本酵素がStreptomyces coelicolorゲノム中に3つ存在することを見出し、破壊株を作成した。破壊株を解析した結果、これまでに報告例のない新規な表現型を示した。また同条件で生産される亜硝酸とdNarとの関連も検証した。さらにFlavohemoglobinについて、既知の知見とは異なる発現条件を見出し、新規な活性も明らかにした。
