项目摘要

企業の経営者が、経理、マーケティング、品質管理などを驚くほど曖昧にしか理解していないことや、従業員とのコミュニケーションをうまく取れていないことは、世界各地で観察されている。その程度は、大企業より中小企業、中小企業より零細企業、先進国よりも途上国でいっそう著しい。開発援助機関やＮＧＯは、途上国の経営者たちが経営の基礎知識やベストプラクティスに触れる機会として、短期研修の開催などの取り組みをしている。近年、その効果を測定しようという研究が増え、経営知識の実践を数量的に把握する手法が開発されるようになり、組織の経済学に新しい発展をもたらしている。本研究はそうした手法をさらに改善させるものであり、経営知識の普及がとりわけ盛んなエチオピアにおいて、開発した手法を試し、知識の普及努力の成果を評価することを目的としている。2018年度は、検証するべき仮説を精緻化して質問票の原案を作り、質問票と企業調査の段取りを確定するための現地調査を行い、現地の調査研究機関Policy Study Instituteに委託して2019年1月から3月に首都アディスアベバにおいて企業調査を実施し、ランダムに抽出した144社の経営者とその従業員533名から有効な聞き取りデータを集めた。2019年度は、そのデータの分析を行うとともに、質問票の改良を行い、前年度の調査対象企業に対してフォローアップ調査と、新たにランダムに選んだ企業40社の調査を、前年度とほぼ同時期に実施した。収集したデータは現在分析中である。研究代表者は2020年3月で大学を退職し、4月から国際機関で勤務している。この機関の規程によると科研費の代表者を続けることができないため、2020年度の交付を辞退せざるをえず、本研究課題は計画通りに進まない。これまでに収集したデータが無駄にならないように努力したい。
