本研究の成果は以下のようにまとめられる,第1に,共同研究開発を介した主体間の関係構造の可視化を行い,どのような構造的位置にある主体がイノベーションを多く達成しているか検討した.その結果,地域ブロックごとに,研究開発ネットワークにおいて中心的となる主体の属性(企業,大学,公設試など)に差異があることを明らかにした.また共同研究に参加する組織の中心性の高さが,イノベーションの達成と密接に関わることを明らかにした.さらに,共同研究開発の空間的拡がりの違いを,研究分野別・組織属性別に検討した結果,製造技術分野のような工学的知識を中心とするものづくり系ではローカルなアクターが指向されるのに対して,科学的知識を中心とするサイエンス系の技術分野では広域的なネットワークが形成されていること,また大学が遠距離との共同研究開発において中心的役割を担うことを示した.第2に,産業集積におけるイノベーションの決定要因を,3種類の外部性(地域特化の経済,多様性の経済,市場の競争性)と,研究開発ネットワークの空間的次元の違い(域内・域外)に着目して分析した.その結果,(1)産業集積がイノベーションに与える効果は多様性の経済が主であり,地域特化の経済と市場の競争性の効果はみられないこと,(2)域内の密なネットワークとともに,域外の組織との接触もイノベーションに正の影響を与えること,(3)研究分野ごとに検討した結果,製造技術分野では地域特化の経済が働くが,ナノテクノロジー分野と情報通信分野では多様性の経済が強く働くといったように,研究分野ごとにイノベーションの決定要因において異なる特徴がみられること,以上の3点を明らかにした.

The results of this study are as follows: 1.
