The Structure and Mechanism of Local Public Finance

In the field of local public finance, I analyze the relation between an institution and its mechanism systematically to establish the basis of institutional analysis. I construct an economic model mathematically according to law of local public finance in order to clarify the characteristics of an institution and its mechanism that occurs under the agents' rational behavior. As institutions of local public finance, I consider those of Japan, the United States, England, Germany, Sweden and Canada. Considering the historical and international differences of institutions among six countries, I find the universal results on the relation between an institution and its mechanism. Finally, I propose some desirable institutions of local public finance for Japan by using the above results.
