A recently developed 20-W continuous-wave (CW) green (532-nm) laser was achieved by using quasi-phase matching (QPM) to convert the frequency. An Mg (1mol%)-doped near-stoichiometric LiTaO_3 (MgSLT) crystal is used in this laser system. These high-power CW green lasers are well suited for laser projection and laser processing.A domain-structure is one of the most important rolls in QPM frequency converter devices. Therefore, we investigated the effect of the heat-treatment on domain-structure in QPM frequency convert devices using the MgSLT crystal.In addition, we investigated the thermal conductivities of non-doped congruent LiTaO_3 (CLT), non-doped near-stoichiometric LiTaO_3 (SLT), and MgSLT crystals along the X-, Y-, and Z-axes at room temperature.
