This research deals with retold versions of Shakespeare's history plays, vigorously published in the late 19^<th> and early 20^<th> centuries. The works discussed in this research period is Richard II, two parts of Henry IV, and Henry V.Especially in Henry V, many parts that would have caused the negative interpretation of the king are omitted or altered in the process of retelling. This omissions or alterations should result in the comparative emphasis of heroic character of the king.
