The Influence of Proficiency Levels on L2 Sentence Processing

本研究探讨了加工含有填补空缺依赖和歧义关系从句附件的句子的策略。参与者是以英语为母语和以日语为母语的晚期第二语言（L2）英语学习者，具有不同的熟练程度。该研究采用了行为和生理研究方法。本族语者和二语学习者之间以及不同英语水平的学习者之间的结果存在差异。结果表明，不同水平的学习者可能使用不同的加工策略。

This study investigated strategies for processing sentences that contained filler-gap dependencies and ambiguous relative-clause attachments. The participants were native speakers of English and Japanese-speaking late second-language (L2) learners of English with different proficiency levels. The study used behavioral and physiological research methods. Different results were found between native speakers of English and the L2 learners as well as between the learners at different proficiency levels. The results indicated a possibility that learners of different proficiency levels used different processing strategies.
