Construction and evaluation of the Web site "narrative of health, illness, the care experience" for the dementia person and family support

In order to establish an information service system that addresses the needs of patients with dementia and their families, we conducted an interview survey of 7 patients with dementia and 35 family carers. Verbatim transcripts of interview contents were subjected to theme analysis. The following six topics were extracted: “onset of symptoms,” “changes in cognitive function-memory, time, space, and language,” “feelings when diagnosed （the early-onset dementia patient),” “feelings when diagnosed （the family providing care),” “going to the hospital,” and “disclosing that the patient has an illness.” The website was constructed based on these findings.
