This study aims to develop and evaluate a CMC tool for the support of project-based learning in out-of-class, based on “CoI(Community of Inquiry) Framework. The tool consists of four parts: social presence mapping, chat display, log-in time display and concept mapping, which combine to enhance social and cognitive presences and encourage learning behavior, such as active discussion, found in previous research and investigation for this system design. Evaluated in terms of social presence and contribution to learning, each function of this system is shown to have a positive effect on learning such as perceived ease of utterances, acknowledgement, integration of group members’ ideas through formative and practical evaluation.

本研究旨在开发一个基于“探究社区”框架的CMC工具，并对其进行评估。该工具包括四个部分：社会存在映射，聊天显示，登录时间显示和概念映射，联合收割机，以提高社会和认知存在，并鼓励学习行为，如积极的讨论，发现在以前的研究和调查本系统的设计。从社会存在和对学习的贡献两个方面进行评估，该系统的每一个功能都对学习产生了积极的影响，例如感知话语的轻松性，认可，通过形成性和实践性评估整合小组成员的想法。
