1. 研究の目的と当初の計画 : 研究の目的は三点である。第一点は、インド仏教において「父殺し」で有名な阿闍世王をめぐる4つの物語主題群(父殺し、救済、政治的・軍事的活動、仏教教団との関わり)の系統的考察である。このためにインド仏教文献における阿闍世王に関する物語を収集・翻訳した上で、それらの形態と意味の変容を解明し、編纂者の意図を明らかにする。第二点は、仏教・ジャイナ教における阿闍世王説話の系統的比較である。阿闍世王はブッダとマハーヴィーラ(ジャイナ教開祖)の同時代の重要人物として両教の文献に描かれる。とくに阿闍世とその父王の不和を描く挿話は有名で先行研究も厚い。本研究は未だ検証の充分でない阿闍世と父の「来世転生」を描く物語に注目し、両教の共通の伝承と独自の理解を明らかにしたい。第三点は、インド仏教所伝の阿闍世王物語の多様性の解明である。このために未解明の二説話(AjātaśatrupitrdrohāvadānaとAjātaśatruparibodhitāvadāna)の翻訳と分析を行う。2. 研究の成果 : 本年度(2014年4月1日から10月19日まで)は研究目的第一、第二に関する成果を得た。第一については、阿闍世王とヴリジ族の戦争をめぐる仏教とジャイナ教の説話の比較研究を完了した。この成果により戦争の暴力とアヒンサー(不殺生)の教義の衝突に対する仏教とジャイナ教の立場の類似点と相違点を明らかにした。この成果は日本印度学仏教学会第65回学術大会において口頭発表され、2015年中に査読付き論文としてIndo-Iranian Journal誌に掲載予定である。第二については、阿闍世王とその父王の「来世転生」に関わる仏教とジャイナ教の説話の包括的な比較研究を行い、この成果は国際仏教学会第17回学術大会において口頭発表され、査読付き論文として本年12月刊行のReligions of South Asia誌(第8巻第2号、頁149-179)に掲載予定である(前年度報告書に掲載確定として記載)。

1. The purpose of the study and the original plan: The purpose of the study is three points. The first point is a systematic investigation of the theme group of stories (father killing, rescue, political and military activities, education and relations). The author of this article is trying to explain the meaning of this article. The second point is the comparison of the system of the king's speech. The unborn king was described in the literature of his contemporaries. The father and mother are not harmonious, but the father and mother are famous. This study has not yet proved that the father's "afterlife" is a description of the language, the common inheritance of the teaching, and the understanding of the individual. The third point is that the diversity of interpretations of the story of the King of Unborn Grudge, which is transmitted by the Idenwa Religious Institute, is clear. This is the first time I've ever heard of this. 2. Research Results: This year (April 1, 2014 to October 19, 2014), the first and second research objectives were achieved. The first part is the comparative study of the language of teaching. The results of the conflict between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are similar to those of the Taiwan Strait. The results were presented orally at the 65th Academic Conference of the Indian Society of Japan and published in the Indo-Iranian Journal in mid-2015. The second part is a comparative study on the relationship between religion and speech. The results of this study were published in the 17th Academic Conference of the International Society for Education (ISED) in the December issue of Religions of South Asia (Volume 8, No. 2, pp. 149-179).
