项目摘要

本研究の目的は、世界の文学・映像作品において、ブエノスアイレスという都市に投影されてきたイメージの諸相を明らかにすることである。具体的には5つのテーマ（1.「憧憬」、2.「中継地」、3.「饗宴」、4.「変容する地図」、5.「潜航」）を設定し、各テーマ毎に、時代と言語圏を横断しながら作家・作品の分析を行った。本年度初頭には、昨年度末に実施した実地調査を基に、作家トマス・エロイ・マルティネスの作品におけるアルゼンチン/ブエノスアイレス表象について報告し（テーマ4）、亡命体験を経て記憶の地図としてメタファー化されるに至る著者の同都市像の変遷を包括的に明らかにした。また年度前半には、テーマ5に係るアルゼンチンの作家およびテーマ3に係る各国の作品の分析を進め、英国比較文学会にて発表を行った。報告では世紀転換期東アジアの小説、戯曲、映画を取り上げ、主人公のアイデンティティ探求における現実/非現実のブエノスアイレス渡航体験の意義を検証した。学会修了後は大英図書館、ロンドン大学本部図書館等にてテーマ1、2、特にW.H.ハドソンとブルース・チャトウィンに係る調査を重点的に実施した。年度後半には、テーマ4の文章化および、テーマ2を中心に欧州の作家に係る資料の読解と考察を進め、学会院生組織研究会等で助言を得た。入手できた資料や論点の数が予想を上回り、当初各1本を想定していた論文が複数に及んだことから、文章化に予定以上の時間を要し、今年度中に5テーマ全てについて成果を外部発信するには至らなかったが、各テーマで調査考察を深化し、全テーマを有機的に収束させる重要なキーワードを見出し得たこと、国内外双方で紹介が進んでいない作品について成果を発表できたことには大きな意義があったと考える。今年度中に発信に至らなかったテーマについては現在3本の論文等を投稿準備中であり、平成29年度に発表を予定している。
