项目摘要

本研究は、GELT(Global Englishes Language Teaching)理論にもとづき、世界の様々な英語変種を教室に導入するのに適した英語習得時期について考察することを目的としている。令和3年度はこれまでの研究成果をまとめて、次の(1)～(3)の公刊論文を発表した。(1)「Instructional Effects of Unfamiliar English on Learner Attitudes and Listening Performance」。これは、一般的大学生にとってなじみのないインド英語に関する90分間の授業を大学生グループを対象に1回実施し、インド英語に対する受容態度や音声理解度の変化について、事前事後調査をもとに分析したものである。事後、一部の受容態度が好意的に変容した。(2)「世界の多様な英語を教育現場に導入することについて―中学校教師と教職課程学生のbeliefs」。世界の多様な英語を中学校で扱うことに関して問うアンケートを教師群と学生群を対象に実施した結果をまとめた論文。回答を比較したところ、保守的な考えが若い学生側に多く見られた。(3)「中学校におけるグローバル英語教育の実践―受容態度と音声理解度への効果」。中学校英語において、世界の多様な英語発音を用いたGELT教育を実践した効果についてまとめた論文。事前事後調査の結果、音声理解度に有意な効果が見られた。
