本研究は「認識方法としての歴史」と「規範形成としての歴史」という二項対立概念的視点から、歴史理論の研究を行い、「歴史とは何か」という究極の学術的問いに答えんとするものである。日本の現代歴史学が依拠する歴史理論は、ふたつのルーツを持つ。ひとつは、認識の学問として発達してきた西洋の近代歴史理論である。もうひとつは、規範形成の学問として発達してきた伝統的東アジアの歴史理論である。この伝統的東アジア歴史理論の基盤の上に、明治日本は近代西洋歴史理論を導入することで、現在の日本型歴史理論を構築してきた。本研究の目的は、この受容プロセスを思想史的に研究することで、日本型歴史理論が本来的に内包する規範的要素と認識的要素を分析整理し、日本型歴史理論の持つ文化的・社会的・教育的・政治的役割を解明することにある。本研究は「認識方法としての歴史」と「規範形成としての歴史」の比較という研究代表者の独創的な視点から、日本型歴史理論の根本を思想史的に研究するものである。2022年度の研究実績は、「歴史とHistoryにおける概念の差異に関する研究」である。ディシプリンとしての歴史学を研究する上で、歴史という概念そのものが実は未だ理論的に研究されていない。そこで本年度は、歴史という用語の根本概念について研究を行った。具体的には、「規範形成としての歴史学」から「認識方法としての歴史学」へと歴史の理論的概念変更が行われた時、当時の歴史家はこの相違をどのように理解し、日本語で表現したのかを調査研究した。中でも「歴史」という用語の形成に焦点を当てて、History 及びGeschichte という概念をどのように理解し、どのような漢字で表現しようとしたかを精査研究した。

In this study, "the History of knowledge and methods" stipulates that there are two basic concepts in the history of history, the study of the theory of history, and the study of the theory of history. In the course of this year, we will use the basic concepts in this year's study.
