本年度の研究実績は主に次の二点である。第一に、カテゴリー化が三つのタイプに大別されることを示すことにより、言語学的内在主義と哲学的外在主義の接合を図った。言語使用者は心的状態に応じて言語表現に(i) メタ言語的敬譲的捉え方、(ii) 心理的敬譲的捉え方、(iii) 非敬譲的捉え方のいずれかを結びつけている。(i)は当該の語を獲得していない場合に発動され、引用符の使用に反映される。他方、(ii)と(iii)は当該の語を獲得している場合に発動される。言語使用者は「水」などの自然種名の意味を正確に理解している必要はなく、専門家による捉え方すなわち(iii)に対して敬譲する意図(言語的分業に関する理解)をもっていればよい。これに対して「独身者」などの語の意味は言語的分業の対象でないため、言語使用者個人が(iii)を保持している必要がある。これは同一の概念的内容に至るルートが複数あるという認知言語学の考え方に沿った図式であり、認知言語学と外在主義が両立可能であることを示唆する。第二に、社会的外在主義が分析性なき不完全理解という概念に本質的に依拠することを示した。これまで、(a) 社会的外在主義が不完全理解の概念に本質的に依拠するかどうか、(b) 不完全理解が分析性を前提とするかどうかが問題とされてきた。これらの問いに答えるためには、ある種のプロトタイプに着目することが有効である。「鳥は空を飛ぶ」と思っていない主体は、鳥概念を不完全に理解しつつ、「鳥」という語の意味(すなわち内包と外延)は正しく理解している。このとき、「鳥は飛ぶ」は概念的真理ではあるものの分析的真理ではない。これは(a)の答えがイエス、(b)の答えがノーであることを示している。本研究が正しければ、認知言語学の採用するプロトタイプ意味論は、この学派の公式見解に反し、社会的外在主義をサポートすることになる。

This year's research performance is mainly based on two points. The first is the combination of linguistic internalism and philosophical externalism. The speech user's mental state is related to speech performance: (i) the speech's respectful direction,(ii) the psychological respectful direction,(iii) the non-respectful direction. (i)When the term is acquired, the action is reflected in the use of the quotation. (ii) and (iii) shall not be moved when the term is acquired.
