初年度である2022年度は，Amartya Sen及びMartha NussbaumのCapability Approach（CA)の理論的内容を明らか異するため，両者によるCA関係文献及び彼等のCA理論にもとづく広範な文献の検討を行い，両者に共通する特徴と相違点について明らかにした．つまり，Senが人間の多様性の観点から「分配的平等」原理を批判し，主体の結果（functioning）だけでなく，彼等が自ら価値を置く存在様式・行為を選択する自由（capability)を平等の判断基準とした点は，Nussbaumにおいても共通していることが明らかとなった．他方，Senがすべての個人に保障されるべき基本的ケイパビリティのセットを同定することに消極的であるのに対し，Nussbaumはすべての個人に保障されるべき「10大人間的ケイパビリティのリスト」を提案している点で両者は異なっている．CAを教科指導に適用しようとする場合，SenのCAよりも具体的なfunctioningを想定する余地を残すNussbaumのCAに依拠する方が有益であると考えられる．ただし，両者のCAに対しては「過度に個人主義的である」という批判が存在しており，複数の論者が集団を個人的capabilityを規定する要因としてだけでなく，所有主体として捉える「集団的ケイパビリティ」と呼称可能な複数の概念的提案が行われている．これらは，capabilityの所有主体として集団を捉えるものと，capabilityの獲得・拡大にとって集団が不可欠であることを強調しつつも，所有主体としては捉えないものとが存在することを明らかとした．このうち教科における学習集団論を発展させるためには，前者の捉え方が重要であることを確認した．
