本研究は、19世紀イギリスの哲学者ジョン・スチュアート・ミルの経験論哲学と実践哲学を地続きのプロジェクトとして包括的に解釈・再構成し、その現代的意義を明らかにすることを目的とする。この目的の達成のため、本年度（令和4年度）は(1)ミルの知覚論および形而上学の研究、および(2)ミルの帰納論の研究を行った。(1)ミルの知覚論および形而上学については、『論理学体系』の断片的記述と『ウィリアム・ハミルトン卿の哲学の検討』、および論文「バークリーの思想と生涯」をメインテクストとし、関連する二次文献の精査も併せて研究を遂行した。成果として、ミルがスコットランド常識学派の直接実在論を退けつつ、われわれの常識が前提とする感覚と外的実在の観念を経験論に取り込むため、独自の「感覚の恒常的可能性」としての物質論を展開したことを明らかにした。以上の成果は既に学内の研究会にて発表しており、論文投稿の準備を進めている。(2)ミルの帰納論については、『論理学体系』第三篇の読解を中心に研究を進めた。結果として、ミルの帰納論を、われわれ人間が無反省的に行ってきた「自然発生的帰納」のありようを観察し、この荒削りな帰納的推論プロセスに基づいてそのプロセス自体を漸次的に改善してゆく自然主義的な「帰納の自然史」のプロジェクトとしてスケッチすることに成功した。以上の成果は日本哲学会編『哲学の門』に採択され、既に出版されている。それに加えて、次年度以降の研究計画を先取りする形で、『自由論』におけるミルの実践哲学についての研究も進め、日本イギリス哲学会関西部会にて発表した。また、関連する応用的課題として、パンデミック下における公衆衛生倫理政策について国際カンファレンスにおいて英語での発表を行った。

The above results are the result of the academic research meeting and the preparation of the paper submission. (2) ミルの帰纳论については, "On the System of Neo-Confucianism" Chapter 3, "Research on the Central Research Center". Result: として, ミルの帰きた"Naturally born 帰纳" のありようを観看し, この瀺りな帰娜's inference プロセスに记づいてそのプロセス自体をgradual improvementしてゆくnaturalisticな"Natural History of the 帰NA" is a success story. The above results were collected and published by the Japanese Philosophical Society's "Philosophy Gate".それに加えて、Research plan for the following year and beyondルの実practice philosophy に つ い て の research も jin め, Japan イ ギ リ ス philosophy society Kansai will に て発 table し た.また、related issues として、パンデミック下におけるpublic health Ethics Policy について国际カンファレンスにおいてEnglishでの発表を行った.
