This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We performed the standard beamline commissioning tasks to ensure its performance: a) beam alignment and steering to center the beam along the beamline, b) monochromator calibration using calibrated metal foils and EXAFS scans, c) monochromator 1 and 2 performance testing (rocking curve, focusing parameter as a function of the energy and distance from the source, and so on), d) ion chamber testing ( gas leaks, linearity), e) Tunning of the monochromator feedback system using ion chamber or BPM as input signal. f) Mirror commissioning procedure (center mirror, focusing parameter as a function of the sample distance, and g) CCD testing and commissioning This procedure is followed three times a year after the shut down period of the APS ring. More detailed commissioning is done when the monochromators or the mirror have been modified or manipulated during the shut down.
