The Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment (CAWT) at Fleming College, in Lindsay, Ontario, is an internationally recognized research institute committed to excellence in applied research and education. The CAWT is highly regarded for its advanced research facilities comprised of: outdoor research test cells, and 20 ponds; state of the art indoor greenhouse research facility and environmental chamber; and analytical laboratories and instrumentation. The CAWT has the following strategic objectives relative to the research and development of innovative water & wastewater treatment technologies: 1) knowledge creation through the development of innovative technologies; 2) application and commercialization through knowledge and technology development; 3) applied learning and training through student involvement and technical training;
