The current proposal addresses the need for tunebale optical filters for use in wavelength division multiplexing systems. Specifically a device is required which can efficiently select a single wavelength from an input optical source containing multiple lasing lines, and output that single wavelength with efficient suppression of all other lines. Further, the device should be able to select different lines within a borad range (i.e. it must be tuneable).
