The project will provide an opportunity for HTS to improve its design and systems integration methods by utilizing the historical performance data of Mohawk College's net-zero energy building. The JCPI building shows the integration of sustainable technologies, better design practices, and equipment, some of them could be included in the contemporary buildings. HTS would like to observe, understand, and experience the significance of energy savings opportunities with some of the practices of JCPI building, and will explore the possibility of improving their design and system efficiency. The project methodology will comprise: understanding of data acquisition system of JCPI building, analysis of historical data of building energy systems, establish the discrepancies in the designed and measured values, compare the results of JCPI building with the contemporary building energy systems, identify the gap and suggest the technical solutions in terms of better design, component selection, and renewable energy integration. The improvement in the design and operational strategies of the building will help HTS in its business in Canada.
