Strengthening the use of XtalFluor reagents in organic synthesis and novel approaches to pentafluorosulfanyl-containing molecules

The projects described herein aim at the development of new synthetic tools, either reactions or reagents, forthe preparation of organic compounds, in particular fluorine-containing molecules which are of high interest inpharmaceutical industry, in agrochemistry as well as in material sciences. Specific objectives are: 1) theimprovement of the deoxofluorination reaction using OmegaChem's XtalFluor reagents; 2) the discovery ofnew transformations using OmegaChem's XtalFluor reagents for the synthesis of fluorinated (trifluoromethylthioethers, trifluoromethyl ethers and monofluoroalkenes) and non-fluorinated compounds (aldehydes and1,1-diarylcyclopropanes); and 3) the development of novel synthetic approaches topentafluorosulfanyl-containing compounds. Overall, these projects are significant in the context thatOmegaChem is continually working to introduce on the market new molecules that can be integrated to thedesign of more complex structures demonstrating innovative properties and increased efficiency.
